Cooperation

Hola Readers

Last week, we had KiwiCan, and it was full of fun activities. When Room 10 (Room Ten is our next-door class) came back from KiwiCan, we lined up to head to the hall. We didn’t have KiwiCan the previous week, but we did the week before.

In the hall, Glaytor and Here, the KiwiCan leaders, greeted us and asked where “Hola” comes from. Someone guessed Argentina. I already knew quite a bit about Argentina, but it was interesting to learn that its population is 45.54 million. Their national animal is the Rufous Hornero, and their capital city is Buenos Aires.

After that, we played a game called “Hoop De Hoop,” where we had to pass a hula hoop around a circle without letting go of anyone’s hands. Our class completed it in 44 seconds, but because someone let go of a hand at the end, our final time was 1 minute and 36 seconds.

The lesson was all about “Co-operation,” focusing on teamwork and working together. Later, we played “Sing With Pride,” where we had to sing songs based on given topics. My group ended up winning this challenge!

We wrapped up with General Knowledge Questions. The GKQ Master is leaving soon, so my teacher will pick a new one.

I had a great time at KiwiCan, learning how teamwork and co-operation help us achieve things together.

25. Favourite Dishes

My Favourite Recipe: Fried Chicken!

Why I like it:
I like fried chicken because it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It tastes really good when it’s cooked right, especially with the seasoning.

Who makes it in the house:
Usually, my mom or dad makes fried chicken. Sometimes, I help by seasoning it or helping with the sides.

What type of chicken do I like:
I like drumsticks the best because they’re easy to eat and have lots of flavor.

What makes it so delicious:
It’s delicious because of the crispy coating and the seasoning that makes it taste awesome. Plus, it’s fun to eat with sides like mashed potatoes or fries.

Where does it originate from:
Fried chicken is from the Southern United States, but other countries have their own versions of it too!

How to make it:

  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp celery salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

For frying, use vegetable oil so it will taste very yummy!

25 TECH

On Monday, February 24, we went to Tech (a school where we learn new things).

Me and my group arrived with our Tech teacher. First, our teacher gave us a long piece of wood and told us to draw lines 6cm apart. Then, we added dots on them like dominoes because we were making our own domino set.

Then  I saw a student using a machine to carve the dots perfectly, making them look exactly like real dominoes. I don’t know what the machine is called, but just when it was about to be my turn, we had to go home.

So that’s what I did at Tech Come back to my blog next week to see the results and the final product.

TECH BLOG

HELLO world! Today, I’m going to blog about what I did at tech. My tech group is Hard Materials, which means we get to make cool stuff using wood, machines, and tools. This week, we started working on a project, and it was actually  fun.

So first, we had to make a symmetrical letter, and I picked the letter S because it’s the first letter of my name. We had to draw our letter on a piece of paper, making sure both sides were even. After that, we got a small square piece of wood, and our next job was to sand all the edges and corners until they were nice and smooth. It took a while, but I made sure to get every single side.

Once I was done sanding, I got a hammer and a bunch of nails. I put my paper with the letter S on top of my wood and started hammering nails into the four corners first so the paper would stay in place. We weren’t supposed to hammer them all the way in only about 1cm deep because we were going to use them for weaving later.

I kept hammering nails along the outline of my letter, making sure they were spaced evenly. I had to be careful not to bend them or hit my fingers (which luckily, I didn’t). Just when I was about to start weaving , our teacher told us that class was over so we could not finsh it .

So yeah, that was my time at tech! I had fun, and I can’t wait to finish my project. Hope y’all enjoyed reading! Byeeee! 😊

🏅 SPORTS CAMP CEREBRATION🏅

Hey everyone! So today was a pretty exciting day—we finally got our medals from sports camp, and honestly, I’ve been waiting for this since we got back last term. For those who don’t know, we went to this sports camp at the YMCA, and it was packed with non-stop action, competition, and so much fun. The whole vibe there was amazing—everyone was pumped, and it felt like every day was an adventure. From the moment we arrived at the camp, it was all about teamwork, sportsmanship, and pushing ourselves to do our best.

Fast forward to today, we had this little ceremony at school where the teachers handed out the medals for the different games we / I competed in. I was honestly a little nervous but mostly excited because I felt like I really gave it my all during camp. So, when they called my name, I was  scared but happy  to go up and collect my medals. I ended up getting two medals, which was awesome—a silver for Hungerball and a bronze for Tug of War.

Let me start with Hungerball because that was  my favorite game. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s kind of like a mix between soccer and dodgeball, but way more intense. You’re basically in this enclosed space, and you’ve got to defend your goal while trying to score against other players. It’s fast, competitive, and just a ton of fun. Honestly, Hungerball was the easiest game for me at camp, mostly because I’ve played it a lot before. I felt like I had a strategy going in, and I knew how to defend my goal without getting too overwhelmed. So when I found out I got the silver medal for it, I wasn’t too happy  but definitely proud. It was cool to see all that practice pay off, and I think I’ll always remember how much fun that game was.

Now, Tug of War was a whole different experience. Tug of War is exactly what it sounds like—a battle of strength and teamwork. You’re basically just pulling with all your might, trying to drag the other team over the line. It sounds simple, but in the moment, it’s way more challenging than you’d think. Our team had to dig deep, and there were moments where I thought we were done for because the other team was pulling so hard. And let me tell you, the rope was no joke. After a while, my hands were seriously hurting from gripping it so tightly. The friction, the weight—it all just added up. By the end, my hands felt raw and sore, but I didn’t want to give up. Even though we didn’t win first place, getting that bronze medal still felt like an achievement, considering how hard we fought.

Honestly, even though my hands were sore for a while after, I’m really glad I took part in Tug of War. It was one of those games that really pushed me out of my comfort zone. The teamwork aspect made it worth it, and it’s something I won’t forget anytime soon.

At the end of the day, getting these medals was such a great reminder of how much fun we had at camp. The whole experience wasn’t just about winning, but also about working together, learning new skills, and making memories. I think I’ll look back on that week at the YMCA as one of the best times ever. The medals are just the icing on the cake—a little something to remember all the hard work and fun we had. Sports camp was a blast, and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I RECOMMEND SPORTS CAMP why? because IT WAS REALLY FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU GUY FOR YOU’RE TIME BYEEEEE
